Field House, furnished the following information to
Special Agents
1985, after being advised of the identities of these agents by a
and
on December 5,
display of FBI credentials:
advised that he was working on the evening of
December 4, l985, at the Field House and that while 'he did not actually
receiye any phone call on that evening from a caller threatening violence
at the field housey he was aware, through
that a cail had been received.
advised that prior to the scheduled performance of

the Royal Marines, there was a very well-organized and orderly

demonstration going on outside the RPr Field House by individuals
protesting the appearance of the Royal Marine Band in Troy, New York.
advised that while these demonstrators did not physically
disrupt individuals entering the Field House, he felt they had an
intimidating presence because, of their numbers. ?
The demonstrators
however, did contact
prior to the demonstration and did
confine their activities to the area in which they were requested
to
stay
advised that also present in the Field House that
evening were several off-duty 'Troy, New York, police officers. as
well as members of RPI's campus security police. After
received the phone call at approximately 7:40 p.m.. which
in nature, -although not an actual bomb threat,
wasthreatening
and several security personnel were discussing the call when they .heard
on a Troy Police radio that a telephonic bomb threat directed against

office to determine the nature of the'call.

Subsequent to these developments and'after responsible RPI
officials conferred, it was decided to evacuate the Field House. to
