The Northern Irish Aidf Community (NORAID) is the main
Irish fund raising organization fin the U.' s. and is believed to
be the major source of PIRA funding. It was founded in 197o by
MICHAEL FLANNERY and two Irish Republican Movement Veterans of
the 1919-192l period.. In January, 1982, a U. S. court ruled that
NORAID must comply with provisions of the Foreign Agents
Registration Act (l938) and register as an Agent of the PIRA.
NORAID is headquartered in New York City with Chapters located
throughout the U. S.

San Francisco cnronicle, a daily San Francisco newspaper, who has
