tnereafter advised the following information:
He was formerly employed as a licensed blaster
for the Tunnel Worker's union, Local l47. In this capacity
he was working on a construction site located at 63rd street
and 2nd Avenue, New York City (NyC), New York (NY) where
he was employed by the Schiayone Construction Company building
a new subway system.
advised that he can recall
having worked on May 19, 1982, however, cannot recall conducting
any biasting activities on that date in that at that time
the construction necessitated that'he.do mostly concrete
work.
advised that he is aware of the system

wherein a"powaer watchman" is in charge of the magazine

where the blasting caps and
dexplosives are storedatthe
construction site.
stated that he has never been
in or to the magazine area of the construction site. The
normal procedure that is utilized when blasting·activities
are being conducted is that the foreman or the walking boss
will normally advise the "powder carrier" what explosives
are needed on a particular job. The powder carrier will
then remove the necessary explosives from the magazine after
having them checked out with the powder watchman making
notes.
The powder carrier would then bring the requested
the necessary explosives to the "blasters" to complete" the
excavation. If any explosives or blasting caps are not
by the walking boss or the foreman.
Stated that he was not aware of any missing

blasting caps that were from the above construction site.

advised he has never been approached to
sell or to steal explosives from any construction site,
especially the construction site above.
