By way of background, on 5/28/82, Ny0 and
seized 42 weapons, approximately 3,500

rounds of ammunition, and 55 blasting caps at

These items had been pro-

cured by the Provisional Irish Republican Army
(PIRA) and were being shipped to Dublin, Ireland
Nyo obtained indictments on captioned subject as
well as
for their involve-
ment in cnis snipment.
By attached teletype dated 8/2/82, Ny0
advised that as a result of FBiHQ Laboratory
examination of the 55 blasting caps, it was
ascertained that they were distributed by Explo,
Inc., Brooklyn, New York. Subsequent to inter-
views at Explo, Inc., it was determined that
these particular blasting caps were in turn sold
to Schiavoni Construction Co., l6oo Patterson
Plank Road, Secaucus, New Jersey, for use in a

construction site at 62nd and Second Avenue,

New York, New York.
