Transcript
Present in submitted specimen Qs3 are six Dupont
delay electric blasting caps whose delay period can not be
determined due to the absence of a delay tag.
The leg wires in all the 55 Dupont electric
blasting caps are 23-gauge (AwG) copper covered with green
and red insulation. The blasting caps were manufactured
by the E. I. duPont de Nemours and Company, Wilmington,
Delaware."
TOOLMARKS
Most of the leg wire ends of the specimen Q53, six
Dupont electric blasting caps, have been cut by a jawed tool
employing a pinch/shearing action.
One of the leg wire ends
has been cut by a single edge shear-tool such as a knife.
a sharp bladed tool such as a knife. Toolmarks of value for
comparison purposes are present in the event suspect tools
are recovered during your investigation of this matter.
DISPOSITIONOF·SPECIMENS
The submitted specimens will be retained in the
FBr Laboratory as additional examinations are required.
